2005 Point Series
This document describes the 2005 point series as adopted by the board on January 15, 2005. In the event of any discrepeancy between the official minutes of the board meeting and this description, the official minutes and USPSA interpretation shall govern the Point Series.
Registration
Registration will be available on-line by February 1, 2005. Only matches fired after your registration will count for the point series. Match directors may offer the service of accepting point series registrations at registration time, in which case that match will "count" provided the match director submits your fee with a signed statement that it was collected prior to your firing your first shot.
Fees
The point series fee is $100 "flat rate" for the entire year.
Match Responsibility
Area matches and national championships are automatically part of the point series. One other Level III match per area may be designated a point series match by the area director. State, Sectional and Other matches must apply to their area director for Point Series recognition.

The match must submit results using EzWinScore 2.20 or later. These results must contain accurate scores in the correct division with correct member numbers. If a match is unable to re-submit results to correct errors (for example, and incorrect member number) it may be disqualified from the point series.

Unlike previous years, the match does not have to designate which individuals are point series competitors. If you are registered with the "season pass" to the point series, your scores will automatically count in the point series division in which you have registered.

What matches count

  • National championship (points multiplied by 4)
  • Highest scoring area championship (points multiplied by 2)
  • Up to two state/sectional matches (points at face value)
  • One other match (points at face value)

State, Sectional and Other matches must be approved as "point series" matches in order to count. There is no fee to the match to be designated as "point series"

The Payout
20% of the entry fee shall be retained by USPSA. 20% will go to high overall in the division, and 60% will go to high over all in the class. That's an 80% payout!!
