Slot Selection Criteria for USPSA Members for IPSC Shotgun World Shoot III, June 3-10, 2018, Châteauroux-Déols, France
USPSA Headquarters
Dec 18, 2017
IPSC shotgun and rifle world shoot events are growing in interest and participation among USPSA members. These events are fairly new compared to handgun world shoot events, and are growing each year.

Slot selection is different in the United States Region from other ISPC Regions. In most IPSC Regions, the IPSC Regional Director controls all shooting sports in his/her Region. In the United States, we enjoy a free-market system where multiple shooting sports exist without a mutual umbrella organization governing them. USPSA Multi-gun is but one of the many multi-gun sports organizations and represents but a few of the multi-gun events in the United States each year.

The obvious selection criteria for shotgun and rifle events, would be to parallel match performance and participation. We do not currently have that information for this event, as there have been no USPSA Shotgun or USPSA Rifle selection matches historically, though the USPSA President is interested in pursuing national matches for shotgun and rifle in the future.

Since time is of the essence, the Regional Director is requesting selection information from interested parties. This information will be easily provided by each interested competitor, and will be converted to an empirical value to eliminate as much random selection as possible. Selection criteria will give preference to those who have been active within the USPSA/IPSC community.

Competitors are competing for 38 slots allocated the US Region. Team selections will be made after the individual slots are allocated from the individuals who received slots. The selection should be completed by January 15, 2018.

Information about the event can be found at http://www.ipscmatches.org/2018sws/.
