USPSA Announces Alan Turner as New Managing Director
USPSA is excited to introduce Alan Turner as our new Managing Director. Alan brings over 25 years of leadership experience in leading non-profits, community engagement, and government relations. His extensive background includes serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of several United Way chapters, as a Regional Chief Executive Officer at the American Red Cross and Executive Director of the New York State Youth Bureau Association. With such a strong leadership background, we are confident in Alan's ability to lead our organization effectively.
Alan has worked with several non-profit boards, staffs and volunteers to fulfill multiple organizations’ missions, at the local, regional and national level. He has worked to create balanced budgets, lead successful mission driven events, increased brand awareness and introduced strong changes to bylaws, policies and procedures to build strong foundations for future growth.
During our interview process, Alan demonstrated his extensive knowledge of non-profit management, curiosity about USPSA and our sport, and a strong history of leadership. Alan is a lifelong firearms enthusiast who recently discovered USPSA. Before our initial meetings, Alan visited a local club and attended a match to gain firsthand experience and appreciation for the sport. This visit sparked his desire to get more involved with USPSA.
Alan earned his M.B.A. at Union University, a B.S. in Business Administration from Daemen College, and an A.A.S. degree from S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill. Alan has also completed Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, and Kellogg School of Management. Additionally, Alan also served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserves after serving with the 338th General Hospital Reserve Unit in Niagara Falls, New York. Alan and his family recently moved to the Denver, Colorado area.
We are thrilled to welcome Alan Turner to our organization and look forward to the growth and development we will achieve under his leadership.
