2023 Election for President


The United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) would like to inform its members of the upcoming 2023 elections for the positions of President, Area 6 Director, and Area 8 Director. In an effort to streamline the voting process,
USPSA has transitioned to an email-only voting system, discontinuing the use of mailed postcards.


Important Dates:
Nominating Petition Deadline: May 1, 2023
Voting Period: June 15, 2023 - July 16, 2023 (closes at 5 pm Pacific Time)

Eligibility Criteria for Voters
Presidential Election: Voters must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents with a current USPSA membership. The original membership date must be at least one year prior to the cut-off date of the election (May 1, 2022). Membership must have been continuous during the one-year period before the election.

Area 6 and Area 8 Director Elections: Voters must be current USPSA members of the respective area. The original membership date must be at least one year prior to the cut-off date of the election (May 1, 2022). Membership must have been continuous during the one-year period before the election.

Candidate Eligibility
Candidates for Area Director positions must have been members for a continuous and uninterrupted minimum period of three years immediately preceding the first day of the term of office.
Candidates for the office of President, after January 1, 2023, must have been members for a continuous and uninterrupted minimum period of five years immediately preceding the first day of the term of office.
Services provided for Electoral Candidates:

USPSA candidate web page, including standardized forms for candidate bio, Q&A, and head-and-shoulder color photo. The deadline for submission is May 15th.
One free ½ page advertisement in USPSA magazine. Please contact the Advertising Coordinator at the USPSA office for deadlines and requirements. The current deadline is March 1st for spot reservation and March 10th for submitted material.
Our election provider, YesElections (powered by Election America), will distribute voting credentials to all eligible members via email.

Voting Process
Eligible members will receive an email containing unique voting credentials from YesElections on or about 9 am Pacific Time on June 15, 2023.
Members can cast their ballots using the unique ID and PIN provided in the email at the website indicated in the email.
As an alternative, members can log in to the USPSA website and click the "Vote Now" banner at the top of each page. This will redirect them to a secure voting portal operated by YesElections, where their eligibility will be verified before allowing them to cast their ballots.
